Most of the dogwoods at our elevation (1958) are fading a bit, but most are still in full bloom. I expect that this weekend will be the last good weekend for them. There will be some persistence over the next few weeks, but I reckon the peak – at least where we are – was last weekend.
The native azaleas – the orange ones – are starting. Most are not in flower yet, but they are on the way. The ones that are out are beautiful, as always.
The crab apples are mostly done. They were hurt by the brief heavy rain we had a few days ago.
The tree pollen is still extremely high, but it isn’t as heavy as it was before the rain. With the forecast for another run of dry, sunny weather, I expect that the next significant rain will wash most of it out, and the grass pollen will begin in earnest. I’m still making footprints on my covered deck, but all things considered, they aren’t as deep as they have been in some years.
