There’s still some uncertainty about the track of the storm, but if we get anything like the 3/4″ of ice that the weather service says is possible, the effects will be severe. The power is almost certain to go down, and stay down for days. The county will be paralyzed. Trees will likely come down and make travel impossible, if it isn’t already from the ice.
The forecast lows are in the teens next week, except for Monday night, when the forecast low is 5. That’s when I start to worry about the pipes freezing. As I’ve said before, it’s a good idea to open up your upstairs vanity, especially if it sits on an outside wall. Make sure that there is nothing blocking air circulation to your pipes.
