The native cherry tree that’s behind our kitchen window is beginning to leaf out. That’s a southern exposure. The cherry and the crab apple are the only trees I see in leaf on our property.
The last few days have bounced back cold. The morning porch temperatures have been around 30, and there’s been a killer wind. That’s forecast to ease a little bit into the weekend, but Monday night’s low is forecast to be 21, with a 30% chance of rain and snow. I’m not taking the snow too seriously, but you never know here in the mountains where weather is very local. I recall one spring a number of years ago. We were taking the dog for a walk, and it started to snow, even though it wasn’t in the forecast. By the time we got back from the walk, there was an inch of snow lying on the grass in the driveway.
