The red moon was amazing last night. The next lunar eclipse is September 7, followed by one on March 3, 2026. But it doesn’t seem we will be able to see either of these from Georgia. Here’s the rundown from Forbes.
It rained a little yesterday, for the first time in a while.
Our redbuds have just started to bud out. We noticed them two days ago, and they’ve advanced a bit since then. Those awful Bradford pears are in bloom, but I haven’t seen any sarvis yet. The red maples are also starting to bud.
The day lilies ventured forth again, and were again promptly eaten by the deer. I think they’re still finding some acorns, but they seem to be getting scarce, as measured by how close to the house the deer are willing to come to get them. At this point, they’re right up against the house. They’re hungry for something green, so anything green is at risk for the next little while. If you haven’t caged up your ornamental plants, there’s still time to do it.
