According to the newspaper of record, the Fannin County Commission has voted to allocate funds for repairs to the Shallowford Bridge. The crew working on the Noontootla Creek Bridge is to move to the Shallowford Bridge immediately after finishing work on that bridge. The hope is to keep the bridge open to traffic for two more years, to allow the new bridge to be completed. As far as I know, the new bridge has not been started. There is no word on what will happen to the Shallowford Bridge once the new bridge is complete, but I hope it will remain in place as as pedestrian bridge.
