Today feels like an early fall day. It started off at about 61 and the forecast high is 79. I doubt it will reach that here. I’m guessing it will be more like 74 or 75. There’s a nice cool breeze, and the forecast is for gusts up to 15 miles per hour.
The katydids are fading. I think there are about half the number we had a few weeks ago. It always makes me sad, as I’m very fond of those little fellows.
We had a Yellow-billed Cuckoo a few days ago. It only stayed for one day, so I suppose it was passing through. But the migration itself doesn’t seem to have gotten started yet, from what I see and from what I’m reading on the bird reports.
