It was 46 on the porch this morning, and the forecast is for somewhat warmer temperatures until Sunday night. The forecast low Sunday night is 25, and the high on Monday is forecast to be 37. The low Monday night is forecast to be 21. These two nights will be the first hard freezes of the season. It’s time to winterize the hose bib, and get the things that can freeze out of the workshop and yard.
As I look over toward Dividing Ridge, it’s obvious that the colors on the ridgetop have faded. But there’s still a lot of subdued color over there, and the side yard is a riot of yellow from the hickories and maples. It’s kind of a brownish yellow, which I guess is a legacy of the very wet summer, but there’s plenty of color, especially in the morning and evening when the sun is shining through it horizontally.
