Leaf Report

It’s feeling like fall, but there’s no real color in the woods, at least in our part of the county. The dogwoods are kind of a rusty brown and the hickories are showing some dull yellow in places, but that’s about it. The overnight lows are forecast to fall to 45 toward the end of the week, so that may bring a bit of a change. There are some leaves on the ground, but not enough to worry about blowing at this point.

We’ve had a fire the past two nights, which is the official start of fall for us.

Last night brought about 5/8 inch of rain at our place, but it didn’t rain much in Blue Ridge, according to the weather station at Mercier Orchards.
