We had a little over a half inch total in the rain gauge over the past few days. It was very much needed, and may have saved some serious damage to the dogwoods and other drought sensitive trees.
Morning temperatures are forecast to be cooler this weekend. Today, it was 43 on the porch at 9:30.
The trees are in full leaf, and with the rain, the tree pollen has backed down quite a bit. I imagine it is mostly over for the spring.
The trees are in full leaf. The laurel had started to come in our area, and I expected that the rain would help it along. So far, it doesn’t seem so. In fact, it looks more like they were damaged a bit by the rain. I didn’t think it got heavy enough to do that, but I suppose it may have happened during the night.
