We finally had a thunderstorm, which brought us about a half inch of rain. It was overdue, as it had gotten very dry, and the trees looked stressed.
The Labor Day Barbecue is Monday, from 11:00 until the food runs out. The menu has changed. Ribs are no longer being offered. Instead it’s sandwiches – pulled pork, hamburger, or Nathan’s hot dog. There’s usually a takeout line at the south end of the park, but I haven’t seen this confirmed in the advertising. It’s usually a good time, although I’m bummed by the fact that they’re not serving ribs.
