We had a sudden thunderstorm-related rain yesterday afternoon, which gave us an inch and a quarter in the rain gauge. I hope this helps the dogwoods, which are looking very stressed. Some are even turning already. I’m hopeful for more rain in the next few days, so that it soaks in a bit more. If you have a favorite dogwood or two, it would be a good idea to water it, unless we do get additional rain.
It’s no secret that it’s been very dry and hot lately. June started off wet enough, and deliciously cool, but the past few weeks have just been dry and hot, hot, hot.
I apologize to my long term readers. I’ve had some challenges lately and haven’t been able to post some of the things that I’ve wanted to post. I hope I can catch up some in the next few days.
