Fall Migration Seems To Have Begun

Along with the cooler weather, I’ve been seeing warblers for the first time this fall. Yesterday, I saw a Yellow-rumped Warbler. Today, in addition to a Yellow-billed Cuckoo, I saw two different warblers that I couldn’t identify – I’m not great at identifying warblers – and the Merlin app reported a Hooded Warbler and a Tennessee Warbler. I don’t recall ever seeing a Tennessee Warbler here, and the app tagged it as uncommon in this location at this time. It all says to me that the fall songbird migration has begun, as these are birds that we don’t see in the summer.
