Storm Aftermath – Check Your Cabin

We got 6-8 inches starting Friday morning, and accumulating at least 5 inches by noon. Our power went off Saturday morning and stayed off until late yesterday afternoon. Many people lost power on Friday. The Blue Ridge Mountain EMC reported 14,000 members without power. So … better come up and check your cabin, unless you are confident that the pipes didn’t freeze. The likeliest place for them to freeze is in an upstairs bathroom with the vanity or toilet against an outside wall. You can help yourself quite a bit if you remember to open up the doors of the vanity when you close up the cabin, so air can at least circulate under the sink.
