Some of the sarvis is in bloom, despite the cool mornings. This probably means that there are some spring ephemerals (that’s naturalist talk for wildflowers) in bloom. I hope to have a report on that later in the week, but it’s getting time to get out there and have a look.
I wanted to mention the website Southerly, which is expanding their coverage. Their beat is “ecology, justice, and culture in the American South.” They cover a lot of the ecological news that it is hard to find elsewhere, some of it their own reporting, some of it by links to other websites. If you are interested in these issues, I’d encourage you to check it out.
