Today is election day for the runoff between Herschel Walker and Raphael Warnock. Early voting has produced eye popping numbers, especially for a runoff election. It’s definitely going to be close.
There is a special election for David Ralston’s seat scheduled for January 3rd. Qualifying began on Monday and I believe it ends at noon on Wednesday. I have heard Brian Pritchard, of Fetch Your News and Sheree Ralston, Ralston’s widow, have declared their candidacy. According to GPB, “Pritchard said in a statement earlier that he intends to run on issues including doing more to stop transgender girls from playing girls high school sports in Georgia.” According to the same source, Ralston said, “I’m running to complete the unfinished work of my husband, David Ralston, specifically as it relates to mental health reform and protecting the interests of Georgia’s 7th House District.” Ralston has been endorsed by Brian Kemp. She is currently the director of the Fannin County Development Authority,
We’re having a rainy run that feels a little like spring, with the shifting mists and drizzle that I call mountain weather. There was two inches in the rain gauge this morning, and morning temperatures have been between 40 and 50. The rainy stretch is forecast to end with a partly sunny day on Saturday.
