Snow

We had the first hard freeze last night. It’s 26.8 at the Mercier’s weather station. At our place, there’s about a half an inch of snow on the ground. The rain froze on the deck before it snowed, so it’s going to be incredibly slick. Some county offices have announced opening at 10:00. There may be some travel difficulties, and conditions may be worse in other parts of the county. All Fannin EMA has posted so far is to watch for black ice. (Now that it’s light, I can see that the roads below are mostly clear, as the ground was still pretty warm. There are some patches of snow on them, and I wouldn’t doubt there’s also ice.) It’s forecast to become sunny with a high of 36, so there will be some melting. The refreeze tonight, however, is apt to be a bear.
