Report on Spring

We’ve had a steady drizzle all day, temps in the 40s entirely. Shifting mists, classic mountain weather. Our redbuds are starting to bud, along with the red maples. The beech and white oak are still holding their leaves. The oaks are glowing bright light green, covered with lichens. The holly seems to have had a good year. The bank of mosses along the driveway is over the moon with moisture. The pastures are almost completely greened. Good day for a good book and a fire, or else a wet walk and a shower. I love these spring mountain days, all green on gray.
