Rain, Feeling More Like Fall

We had about 3/4 inch of rain last night. It came in with a strong wind, which produced a hail of acorns on the porch roof. It tapered off to a gentle rain, so I think it did some good. It’s been awful dry out in the woods, and I’ve been worried about the plants we put in last spring.

The leaves are starting to fall, and some more of the trees are turning. We’re supposed to get some lows in the high 40s later this week. I think everyone is ready for it, as it has been awfully hot lately, if a little bit drier.
