The Polk County Ramp Festival is tomorrow. It’s at the old 4H Camp (Camp McCroy) on Hwy 315 between Parksville Lake and Reliance.
The Trout Festival is next Saturday, April 30, in the downtown park in Blue Ridge. It’s expected to be a major festival right out of the box. Here’s some of the skinny from the local chapter (I’m a member). By the way, we need volunteers, lots of volunteers. Priscilla McDonald is the Volunteer Coordinator and she can be reached atpkdm1025@gmail.com.
We have over 65 Vendors including outfitters with kayaks, drift boats, new equipment, fly shops with everything you have always wanted, non profits that we are all familiar with such as Casting for Recovery and numerous other vendors and exhibitors. Sweetwater Brewery is going to have a tent with all kinds of freebies and games. Education from Atlanta Fly Fishing School and Local Guides will be available at no cost except your entrance fee of $5.00. And do not forget the Food Trucks: Cousins Maine Lobster (fresh lobster rolls), Cape Pies (meat pies), Williamson Bros. Barbecue, Angel Fire, Sugar Rush (fried Oreo’s) and Mercier Orchards (hard cider, fried pies, donuts and hot reuben sandwiches). There will be music, beer gardens, a casting pond and fly tying area.
Here’s the website.
