New Restaurant and Brewery

It’s not open yet, but there’s a new seafood restaurant in the old Dairy Queen location next to the post office in Morganton. There have been several restaurants in there which haven’t made it, including one owned by Tim Richter, who owns the Toccoa Riverside Restaurant. Their menu is posted on their website, and it looks interesting. It’s named the Cove Fish Camp.

We haven’t been out and about much since the pandemic, but there is also a new brewery downtown, in an old gas station between the Pedigo store and the Co-Op on East Main.

The downtown looks a lot different than before the pandemic, with the new Hampton Inn, the mixed use building where the Methodist Church used to be, and the conversion of the old feed and seed store to a restaurant location. The locals are still debating if it is progress, but there’s no doubt that it’s different.
