Much Cooler, Public Meeting on McCaysville Bypass

Yesterday morning we had about 48 on the porch and today it’s more like 50. We got home yesterday after the sun was down, and it was actually too cool to want to sit on the porch, which is unusual for us. I don’t expect it to last, but it’s a welcome change and seems to have put a bit of a spring in everyone’s step.

There’s a  a public meeting on the “Bypass Project” on Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the West Fannin Elementary gym. I think that the Stop the McCaysville Bypass group is planning to present their alternative plan, which is a much better idea. See my column for August 29 for details on their plan. If you don’t want Copperhill and McCaysville to die, it would be a good idea to attend. And if you don’t want to see Fightingtown Creek torn up, likewise.
