Leaf Update

After about ten beautiful, bone dry days that shaded into Indian summer, we’re finally getting some rain. That’s a good thing, as the trees need water.

We were out in the Chattahoochee National Forest south of town yesterday, and we noticed that there is quite a bit more color than there was a few days ago. Here at home, we’re seeing more yellows, and some reds from the dogwoods. Even across on Dividing Ridge there’s more color than there was a few days ago, and that’s not usually an impressive area for leaf color. We’re still far from peak color, but things are coming along.
