The Labor Day Bar-B-Que is Monday, in the downtown park. It’s one of my favorite events. For one thing, it’s been going for years, and it’s for a good cause (the Good Samaritans of Fannin County). It’s morphed into a three day event. Saturday is a kind of flea market in the park, with some food concessions for brekfast and lunch. Sunday is the traditional Community Worshop at 6:00 PM followed by an Ice Cream Social. The barbecue is on Monday, starting at 11:30. There will be music, and everyone come out to this one, even the old boys. Ribs $13, Chicken !0, Pork Sandwich 9. With all the fixings, which usually include beans and no mayo slaw, drink, apple, and dessert.
No doubt they still need volunteers. They’ll be cooking in the park all night on Saturday, and someone can always carry coals to the pit.
Here’s the website.
