Harvest Fests This Weekend

Best bets for this weekend, at least according to me, are the Fall Fest Arts and Crafts Fair at the State Farmer’s Market in Blue Ridge. That’s in the vicinity of the Swan Drive In, on the old highway. From Atlanta, you would turn right at June Walker Chevy and pass the High School. The market is on the right, just before you reach the Swan Drive In sign. It’s basically a crafts fair, with quilts and pottery (usually), but the best reason to go is for the canned goods and preserves, most of which are homemade. It’s on both Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday is the Annual Harvest Festival at the Crane Creek Vineyards, in Young Harris. There’s a wine tasting, of course, and winery tour. But there’s also hay rides, grape stomping, crafts, and music by Gnarly Fingers (starting at noon). Admission is $10. Under 12 is free. From more information, 706.379.1236.
