Flooding

We’ve been getting flash flood warnings this morning. Cutcane Creek is not out of it’s banks, at least down in the meadow we can see, but I don’t think it will be long. I haven’t seen it, but the part of Lowrey Road that’s close to Cutcane Road is probably been flooded by Long Creek. I can tell you that it’s deeper than it looks, from personal experience. Better not try to cross it. The weather station at Merciers reports 2.9″ rain in the last 24 hours.

By 1:30, we had 3.5″ rain since midnight. Cutcane Creek is well out of its banks and is inundating the pasture below. The High School released the students who drive at 11:00, and I believe everyone else was released at 1:00. This make sense, as a lot of people live on the far side of a creek that floods.

Please be careful, especially after dark.
