So the eclipse is coming, August 21 in the afternoon. As we are in the band of totality, we’re expecting a lot of traffic, and cabin rentals are said to be off the charts for this time of year. The sources I have read say not to trust the eclipse glasses people are giving out unless they carry the ISO certification. Needless to say, they’re all sold out online, as far as I can tell. The New York Times quotes an expert as saying that you should not follow the advice I’ve read to look at the sun while it is in totality without proper glasses. Since you and your children’s safety is important – you do use your eyes, don’t you? – I’ve posted a link to the story.
