Dusting Of Snow, Very Cold, Power Outage

Update: At 8:20 AM, the snow seems to have ended where we are, about two miles southeast of Mineral Bluff. The forecast high today is 8, and the forecast low tonight is 1. It’s been some time since it’s been this cold here.

Original post: There’s a light dusting of snow at 7:30 this morning. It may have just started, and it may be continuing to some extent.

Temperature is 10 on the deck, and it’s very windy. The weather service says wind chill is up to -12.

There may well be some ice in places, and there may be local travel difficulties. Good day to stay inside by the fire.

We had a power outage early this morning – I think starting about 2:30 – and were pretty happy when it came back on around 7:00.

If you have a vanity on an outside wall – especially if it is upstairs – it would be a good idea to open up the doors so the air can circulate. That helps keep it from freezing. It might be good to run some water from time to time, and flush the toilet occasionally.
