Brief Leaf Report

We’re back from a little trip, delighted to find that the weather is beautiful this weekend and that there is still some leaf color at our place. Coming through Tennessee, we noted that some areas still have very brilliant color, including many reds. (Tennessee often seems to us to have better leaf color.) Here at our place, the brightest colors are the yellows of the mockernut hickories and the maples. They’re especially bright at sunset, with the sun shining more sideways through the leaves.
