It was 50 at 7:00 AM, which quickly turned to 48 as the wind began to stir and bring colder air up from the valley. Yesterday afternoon was a beautiful, warm 73. It has continued awfully dry.
There’s some leaf color on the ridges, but it’s mostly in rusty oak tones, with some yellow -orange from the hickories. It’s hard to tell how the leaf season will be at this point because of the dry weather, but it will probably be a few more weeks before the peak. There’s no sign at this point that it is going to bounce back to more seasonable early October temperatures.
