Beautiful Early Fall Day

Yesterday was a beautiful early fall day that had me thinking thoughts of an early winter. The morning temperature was 54 on the porch – today it’s 52 – and the afternoon high was in the low 70s. There was a nice breeze, too.

The forecast is for basically the same thing all week long, so it might be time to plan a visit. There are a few leaves falling, the dogwoods are turning rusty, and there are some signs of leaves turning on Dividing Ridge. Most of the trees are still in leaf, so it’s too early to worry about leaf raking, another good reason to come up and visit.
