Art Exhibit and New Music Venue

We’ve had something of a drying trend, which gives me some hope that as we move into September – usually our driest month – that the weather will turn more sunny. We’ve had a few beautiful days with mornings around 60° and clear skies followed by a few days with some drizzle.

The Blue Ridge Arts Association is opening an exhibit of the North Carolina Wildlife Artist Society with a reception on August 3 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. The exhibit will be on display for the month of August.

There is a new music venue, Sturgeon’s Amphitheater, in Ellijay. According to the website, it is located about 4.3 miles north of the Hardees on Hwy 515 at the second entrance to Old Northcut Road. The first announced events are Confederate Railroad with Waymore’s Outlaws (a local Waylon Jennings cover band) on August 10, and Shenandoah on September 7.
